As far as taking orange groves and other open land for the almighty buck, what is the purpose of orange groves but to make money? Beside that, if you got in small plane and flew over Florida, or any other state for that matter, you'd probably be shocked at how much undeveloped land exists. A relatively small percentage of the land is covered by development.

What is the purpose of Orange Groves? Well, they produce food and oxygen that roads and houses do NOT. The LACK of plants worldwide (especially in the Amazon rain forest, but also local areas like our TV Land bubble) is the reason that each year for the last 8 years - the Earth is getting warmer. And CO2 is forming an upper atmosphere blanket producing that HEAT, aka GLOBAL WARMING.
.............Other than that, I suppose that the Orange Groves are just USELESS !!!!!!
