I said all that to say this- you have every right to be irritated. Consider contacting your congressman. You may even consider circulating a petition either on paper or online (they have petition websites).
Our veterans should be recognized; and an ID is a basic form of this recognition.

Don't disagree with anything you say. Some may find it "petty" to bother a congress person with such a "small" matter. On the other hand... Might be wise if the people who put individuals into various to positions to represent them, to actually make their desires and opinions KNOWN to those representatives; rather than elect them and then just forget them and anything they do. Having said all that, the "easy" lane might be to just go to one of the many many banks here; there are many exceptionally customer friendly ones (we FINALLY found one, LOL !)
