He lives near Daytona Beach, took a rented trailer for him to get it. The clutch went bad. He called The Villages golf cart sales and they said they had the part but would not sell it to him because of parts shortages involving the supply chain issues the country is facing but would install it if he brought in the cart. He advised that he would have to rent a trailer and drive it over. Not acceptable to him. He suggested he pay for the part AND their labor charge (they would not have to install the part) and have me just pick up the part for him. They would not even do that!! Now what king of BS is that? Some parts are very easy to install, a drive belt for instance. This is no way to treat us.
I hear ya! Same kind of thing happened to us. We purchased a Yamaha from Carts and Clubs in 2017 (great place, by the way, they make house calls to service the machine). A couple of years later the better half decided she didn't like the seat that came with it originally, so I went to the Villages to purchase a different style. Once they learned that I hadn't purchased my cart from them, they shut the door on me and said "No sale, if the cart wasn't purchased here." Not a problem for me, I simply went back to C&C's, bought the new seat and installed it myself. The new seat's cost came to $1389.33. Now why would a company pass on that kind of sale because I didn't buy my cart from them? It really doesn't make any sense, no matter how many of you readers will try to rationalize their logic.
