This is where the oldies get flustered and confused. Then it asks you how many bags you used. Then are you paying cash or card? Go into any supermarket and you will see young people at the self checkout and the seniors at a cashier. There might be a line of 20 people waiting on the cashier line, and 6 empty self checkout stations, but the senior will wait for a cashier.
Worse yet, if you’re in self checkout and there’s no code to scan, you have to get help from an employee! That wastes time, and makes you feel incompetent.

Self checkout works best for smaller orders. For large orders, where you’d have items like frozen foods and packs of heavy bottles of water, cashiers can pack more quickly and efficiently.
