I’ve been a Pfizer shareholder for many years. The company’s net profit in 2021, 2 years into COVID, was about the same as it was in 2017, 2 years before COVID! Their stock price today is about what it was at the end of 2018, a year before any thought of a COVID vaccine.

So where does this impression of ‘record profits’ come from? And why does the media keep portraying Pfizer as the ‘enemy’? A lot of people would be dead if all the drug companies disappeared!
Your comment is sooooo ironic.

First of all, Tucker is very partisan and has been known to be at least disingenuous if not an outright liar -- note the recent lawsuit by Dominion.

Second, the reason, the drug companies are so demonized is that they are not regulated in the U.S. We are the only advanced nation in the world that does not regulate drug prices and largely because of that, our healthcare is twice as expensive as the next highest nation and much more than that for many others.

Third, if we had Medicare for all, this would change because then the government would negotiate the price for drugs.

Fourth, in most countries commercials for pharmaceuticals are prohibited.

Fifth, the pharmaceutical industry is the richest industry in the world, its wealth outranking even the oil companies.
