Because he was under oath and didn't want to take the chance of lying himself, the owner of Fox admitted that he (and many of the on-air commentators,
per their own private texts) were afraid that they would lose a mass number of viewers/$$$...
if they actually started telling the truth.
Think about that, a huge amount of those who get their info primarily from Fox News,
WANT to be lied to - rather than to hear the truth.
Simply amazing, but not exactly a big secret by now.
I suppose Murdoch could have just taken the 5th hundreds of times, instead of being honest, but at least he was willing to not lie - this time.
