You can get a copy of the jet airways, just googling them, but they run through the skies like highways from back in the day when the aircraft needed the ground based navigation aids to get from A to B. Now, they are used to keep traffic in a manageable pattern in the sky because (almost) all of the jets up there can go direct from Point A in FL to point B in Minnesota. So, the aircraft fly in parallel lines so that the controller isn't trying to herd butterflies. Then, depending on what time of day it is, the departure push or arrival push from various airports is going on. Then you have aircraft going North to south and East to West, which would create a checkboard pattern, depending on the traffic flows at that time of day. And the temperature and dewpoint (which is what causes hot moist jet exhaust to condense in cool/cold or oversaturated air) are different from day to day, hour to hour impacted by the jet stream. So, not having seen what you have seen on any particular day, I can't explain that particular set of contrails. But I can tell you that I don't believe much of what I hear from the establishment, but I know for a fact that the military is not up there chemtrailing their own families and I have seen the supposed pics of the airlines with the chemtrail on/off switch, and I know that is ridiculous.
