We set our thermostat to "cool only" in summer. When the thermostat is set at 77, the heater doesn't come on! It just tells the AC not to come on until the temperature in the house reaches 77. It seldom if ever does! Sometimes 77 is too warm for us and we turn it down some, but I have to have at least 73 to sleep.
