Just because something may be hard to do, or "that's the way we always have done it", doesn't automatically mean it should not change. Obstructing change for those reasons is foolish. Look at history. Cars replaced horses. Fuel injection replaced carburetors. Computers replaced slide rules. LED bulbs replaced tungsten filament bulbs. Things evolve. People can choose to help, or obstruct. My choice is clear.
You left out: knives became spears. Spears became arrows. Slings became trebuchet. (Fast forward) tnt became atomic bombs. Etc.
Change is not always for the better.
