That said, I was curious, and called USAA this morning (March 7, 2023). Yes, they ARE still writing new policies here for service members, as well as renewing them. I encourage interested existing clients of USAA to give them a call and confirm if you are shopping for Homeowners Insurance.

I applied for USAA a couple of weeks ago. First attempt was online which was not accepted, and they provided a phone number to call customer service. Called USAA and the service rep could see I had applied online. She asked me all the questions I had been asked online. Result...your application is denied because of excessive wind damage in Florida.
