Our research also shows that of those 90% at least 50%, the ones with seat belts, are the biggest offenders. We will limit our initial patrols to the Squares from 5-8 pm and ticket only the Yamaha Golf Cars with seat belts. This will take a big load off our future work. Tickets can be attached to the windshields and will have instructions on payment. Thanks again for your service to make the Villages safer.
Do these tickets also apply to electric bicycles, unicycles, scooters and "Atomic Cars". Segregating Yamaha Golf Carts with seatbelts is being discriminatory and probably illegal. If this is going to be an enforced ordinance, then speed signs need to be posted on all cart paths at regular intervals. Regardless what may be written within any documentation regarding this, posted speed limits must be in place. And tickets must be able to be contested before a magistrate, with the enforcing principle present for the hearing. Who is going to manage and monitor this? Where do the fine fees go? How will "over zealous" ticket cops be administered to and complaints handled?
