There are ABSOLUTELY "horrific" love bug years, and there are "light" love bug years, it's not the village you are in at all. It's like red tide, and hurricanes, and droughts... you get the heavy years, and the "light" years... so perhaps soon, you will be able to experience a "bad" love bug year.... LOL, but, it will pass in a month ! Now if they bit, like mosquitos for instance, we'd probably never survive one May !
