If it has a large cylinder that moves up and down, it provides to same function as a flapper. There is a red or yellow gasket at the bottom of the cylinder that is about 4 inches in diameter. Turn off the water, flush, then lift up the cylinder and peel off the gasket. Replace it with a Kohler yellow (not red) gasket that you can buy at Lowes, Home Depot, and ACE Hardware.
