You intentionally speak in a way you know some will find offensive. That doesn't sound any different than INTENTIONALLY trying to offend someone.

And in the times when you don't tell someone to grow thicker skin and you actually do apologize, you don't change your mind on what you said. It sounds like your apology takes the form of, "I'm sorry you get offended at what I say."
