Actually, in that "stimulus" bill, besides all the pork was stuck a few items relative to the health plans...creating a National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, which the former Lt Gov of NY says...back in February...

"One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and 'guide' your doctor’s decisions."

"Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far," she writes, maintaining that the plan will limit growth and innovation in the health care industry."

Now this position was started by GW Bush actually, but keep an eye on this part of the "stimulus" plan !!!

I think the idea of using technology to cut costs is good, but all I am seeing is intrusion and more intrusion as this bill upped the spending for this quite a bit.
