Annual injections to keep Lethal Bronzing (TDDS) from killing your tree should not cost more than 40-50 for the 1st one, and 20-30 for the annual boosters. Some spray companies were charging $100s, the shot itself is less than 5 bucks and you don't need a special license to purchase and use. They WANT you to use it, and it has to be affordable for the growers as well.
Seems the quarantine they were placing on the counties that TDDS was discovered in a few years back, came to The Villages to die.

Good point on bacteria being spread by the saws. So I was wrong about that. Sterilizing saws CAN help stop the spread of the lethal bronzing disease between palm trees Anyone have information on the spread of this disease in the Villages? There are a lot of susceptible palm species around these neighborhoods. I injected my trees a number of years back but stopped doing it as I didn’t see any evidence of disease in my neighborhood.
