Yes you can buy a helluva lot of light bulbs for the cost of the solar tubes but the natural lighting is much more preferred. We had the huge rectangular sky lights in our former KY home and if you've not seen these solar tubes you'll be amazed how much light they produce.
Ejp52 (Eddie) said the only thing wrong with them is that when he leaves a room, he's looking for the light switch.
