What Daley was to Chicago, Curley was to Boston. He even got convicted of influence peddling regarding defense contracts during WWII while mayor, and ended up in federal prison during his mayoral term. After 5 months in stir he was pardoned by Truman under pressure from the Mass. congressional delegation. Curley left prison and resumed his term in office.
