I completely agree with your comments; however, I believe it is way too late. This business of buying for rental should have been controlled from the very beginning. When we moved here almost 20 yrs ago people were buying three or four homes for rentals and living elsewhere in gated communities. I know that some of the sales agents are among the biggest offenders when it comes to owning rentals, my own sales agent owns several.

Before buying in TV we rented for several years in Redington Shores on the Gulf. That strip was lined with rental motels and condos. Then a beautiful block of condos went up, selling for over a million each. They had a list of restrictions that would choke a horse and one of them was absolutely no rentals, none. Owner occupied only. It remains a beautiful block of condos while rental places are run down.

If you lose your good name it is very hard to get it back.
