I recently bought a new refrigerator from Appliance Direct. I was offered the warranty. I declined saying I never purchase warranties.

The salesman told me they were offering a special deal. If I would buy the warranty they would cover the sales tax. Why not get in fact a free warranty.

I later got in the mail an advertisement from a competitor stating NO SALES TAX on ENERGY STAR APPLIANCES.

I researched this and found out in Florida there is NO sales tax on energy star appliances.

I went back and got my money back.

This is not the first time they have pulled this scam, I am certain.
