Unless you A/C your garage, my opinion is you are better off installing a screen garage door to be used in conjunction with the hard door. We use our hard door in the winter when it's cold or during hurricanes, but otherwise we use our screen garage door and are very happy with it. Garage is ventilated, full of daylight, and is the same temp as ambient outdoors. We have insulated the attic over our garage FYI, and we put reflective film on the window that faces south. We used Thumper's Screen Garage Doors some 6 years ago and are very very happy with their door and service. It is the type of door that retracts overhead just like the hard door does.
