Default Obama's speech 9/9/09 Re: Health Care Reform

Someone had to start it....I decided to sleep on what I heard. I remain disappointed in that there was absolutely NOTHING new put forward. It sounded to me like he took stock of all that has been said over the lawmakers vacation at the town hall meetings....he obviously takes into account his ratings which are down substantially....he had h to have taken into account that any poll one wants to talk about shows we the people DO NOT embrace the public option....he has taken into account his administrations trial balloons on scraping the public option.....he has taken into account what his majority leaders in Congress have "dictated".

And what ever else he takes into account before a so called make or break speech.

After all the above he comes out the door that sorta indicates, forget about what you heard over the summer vacation from we the people, forget about the polls expressing the American public and get back to work on what I told you I wanted last July!!! And if anybody speaks out against it, we will call them out.

He pretends to offer in his speech to reach across the aisle, while not having invited one Republican leader to the WH since April to discuss alternatives. If you noticed during the speech when he referred to being open to alternative ideas, the Republic side of the house erupted with representatives holding up their proposals as if to say here they have been Mr. POTUS! I was especially impressed when he said let me talk to the seniors out there for a moment....and then went into schmooze overload with more feel good statements.

His speech confirmed his support for the furthest left he could possibly show favor. Totally ignoring any opportunity to to send a message to the Congress and we the people. His stern (correographed in the speech) warning "...the time for bickering is over..." was delivered to with emphasis toward any who have been or still are opposed to what he proposes.

My letters today to my representatives ( well that is their task) will reflect the same as above. And I will appeal to them to vote against the once again nebulous statements of you will get to keep what you have....you will keep your doctor...no death squads....it will not cost one dime ().

His entire premise is based on the fact the reform will be funded by savings to come from Medicare and other health care abuses. That is the same old same old justification from the summer. If those savings are so tangible, why was there no commitment to go after them while this reform lolls around the halls for years to come???? Why not????

Another hollow promise being used for justification and to address a major concern of many Americans who, like me, remain in shock at this POTUS and his majority Congress and all his advisers, over their continued aloof frivolous disregard for the ramifications of adding an un-funded trillion dollar burden on the American people who are in the midst of one of the so called worst recessions in history.

In conclusion.....absolutely nothing changed, except to confirm his original intents. I held high hopes he would at least have given direction to the lawmakers that would address the will of the people. Totally absent from his speech. He was 100% in his campaign mode, well prepared, well scripted, well correographed, well READ schmooze mode. The old trust me.....I am your President (VS candidate mode of 2008). Proof positive his priority is the political agenda.....NOTHING MORE! The speech was about as specific as putting dimensions on a passing cloud (AGAIN!!).

He is what he is....a word slinging politician who will say and do anything to further his agenda.....while walking upon we the people. He truly has embellished he is not concerned about being a one term president.

I, anxiously await being enlightened (as usual) to hear from those who heard anything different....or what I may have missed.
