You've been reading the Daily Sun too much. The Villages developer does not want those shopping centers golf cart accessible because it's not his property. And...he will not permit any tunnel or bridge, built by the other plazas, to be connected to his property. It's a matter of "value added" commercial property. You know, that "Golf Cart Approved" thing!
The town of Lady Lake would love for everywhere to be golf cart accessible. It brings more businesses (which pay nice taxes). But the developer wants no part of it and makes all kinds of excuses why it's a bad idea! Interesting... golf cart accessible on Villages property is a good idea; golf cart accessible on their property is a lousy idea.
The developer didn't even like the name they chose: "Village Crossroads Plaza".
