. Except if you use your garage for entry/exit multiple times during the day you have to fully open/close it each time. With the sliders, aside from no motor to wear out from heavy use, when you want to walk outside you only need to open it a few inches/feet (depending on one's circumference . ).

For those considering one, get the ones that don't have wheels on the bottom track. We got ours from Michelle's Screen about 6 years ago (about $1200 for 2 car garage back then). It hangs and the bottom track is only a guide and normal "stuff" in it doesn't affect it. Never YET had to lube the sliding wheels on top and never YET backed through it!

If you never or rarely ever use your garage to walk outside then a power one might be best, but for constant in/out through the garage during the day a slider is more efficient IMO.
