I would like to tell you about the wonderful experience we had with a local business – Good Guys Air Conditioning. In fact, they made a very bad and uncomfortable situation “livable”. Noticed on Monday ac was not holding temperature. Made an appointment with another HVAC company, who came out on Tuesday. Said they couldn’t find a problem but noticed the Freon was low and to keep an eye on it. Worked fine until Wednesday – called again for them to come out. Made an appointment for the next day – not only did they not come at the assigned appointment time, but were put out that we were not home. Said there was NOTHING they could do until the following Tuesday - -one week from the initial call / problem and “guessed” what the problem was without seeing the inside unit.
On Friday am I called another company for another opinion. They patiently answered all of my questions before I made an appointment with them. Since we were NEVER told to turn off the system they initially had a hard time determining if and where a leak might be. Anyway they were able to finally locate the problem (NOT THE LINES) and in the short term offered us a portable AC unit while they fixed ours.
They found the problem – drove 1 ½ hours each way to get the required part – and fixed it as promised. It was not an easy job or fix but they were patient and explained everything. The cost was substantial but much less than we were led to believe by the other HVAC Company. Please give them a try if you need any HVAC services!
