We do own the property upon which the easement has been granted!

An easement - usage - is granted - ownership is not granted. I sincerely doubt that any property owner in the Villages has granted an easement to anyone with the express purpose of allowing their dog to use any part of the property as their 'rest' area.
If I am not correct, I am sure someone with legal knowledge - not opinion - will come along and jump in.
