No electronic devices of any kind are allowed IN THE BUILDING. Phones, Laptops, Readers, nothing according to the letter she got.
These folks have to sit all day with absolutely nothing to do assuming of course they are not called in. Up north those devices were NOT allowed in the COURTROOM but OK in the waiting (jurors) room.
She could have gotten out of it for multiple reasons including age and recent Covid but chose to serve. Fortunately it's only 1 day (or 1 trial) but the restrictions surprise me.
Anyone done SUMTER COUNTY jury duty recently and can confirm the restrictions?[/QUOT
