I lived by the Nancy Lopez Golf Course for many years. Now, I live in the southern area to be closer to family and friends. You are not missing much down here. The amenities and pools are usually full. You have to plan your day around the crowds. Even then, you may still have to wait or miss out completely. There aren't many places to shop but I believe that will change.
