I had a 2011 IMac 21 inch and wanted to increase the memory. I could not find anyone that would do it, they said it required removing the screen because mine did not have the door to the memory on the back. Also Apple would not do operating systems updates anymore. So I got a new mini with the most memory available. The only problem was Apple wanted 3 times the cost of the mini for their monitor. I did some research and found out they had been using a Dell monitor before theirs came out. So I ordered a 27 inch Dell for less that half the price of the mini. The only cons about doing this is there is no camera and the sound in both the mini and monitor suck, solved that with a $15 speaker set.
