Hate to break it you! The Villages is not free of problems. Never has been and never will be. We work it out, learn, and move on. There is no need to pretend.

Like other posters, I see problems with Middleton using our MMP paths on a daily basis. Who is going to monitor unattended children to make certain they behave safely and responsibly on them? We have some CRAZY (sometimes drunk) drivers on our paths. Is it a good idea to put children in the mix? I can list more of my concerns but I will stop there. I guess I will have to trust the parents to handle these issues. Hopefully, most are smart enough not to allow their children, even their teens, to meander freely.
So will the offspring of Middleton be any different, than the multitude of Grandparents who thinks it’s cute for their 8 yo grandson to drive a cart north of 44? Or the teens who takes out grandpa’s cart while he is sleeping and runs through, neighbors yards.

Truthfully, I believe the offspring of village employees, will be far more disciplined. Why because it’s their parents reputation on the line for not being able to be responsible for their children. Parents are the faces of teachers, sales reps, retail employees, that their livelihood is based on income, from the residents and contractors, and the developer.

Compared to grandparents who have nothing to loose when their grandchildren do something stupid, other that insurance involvement.
