I think you are referring to a different coverage than the OP is. Sewer backup coverage is a very important and necessary insurance coverage. It will cover damage to your house in the event your sewer pipe becomes clogged and raw sewage backs up into your house. This coverage is offered as an add-on or "rider" to your homeowners policy.
I think the OP is referring to a separate insurance policy that will pay the cost to repair a broken sewer pipe on your property. It is sold by a separate company and it is not part of your homeowners policy. It is not worth the cost.
