BTW, have any of you actually been to Chicago? It's one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Mayor Daily is 1000% for his citizens. Burris is an ass and not beloved in Chi at all. I did not hear what he said, but if he's blaming Bush... that's just plain ridiculous.

With all due respect and your snide comments aside, from my perspective that "small minded, sad little group of people" that you lovingly refer to is not "happy that AMERICA did not get the Olympics" because of Chicago, but the arrogance once again displayed by our President.
When Tony Blair did the work for London and the 2012 Olympics, he spent days there talking and meeting with the folks that he had to convince. Our President, who more and more is acting like a rock star instead of a President, flew in and spoke......and by the way, it is reported that his speech was biographical in nature, in other words
PERSONAL...and that that his mere showing up would clinch the deal.
It does not work that way in the real world, whether you like it or not.
Those who you sarcastically go after just want our President to be the President and instead of all the tv appearances, the rock star atttidue...attack the issues like Iran, Afghanastan, etc.
I sure do not criticize him for trying to get the olympics, but it sure seemed like a bad time (Afghanastan for example) to try and do what he did however but folks can sense when you feel that your presence alone is sufficient.
Maybe, just maybe, if the President and his wife had not spoken about
THEMSELVES and more about the country the vote would have been different, however I dont think even that would have helped !
