Lightening strikes and sink holes happen FREQUENTLY THROUGHOUT the Villages. You would need a crystal ball to determine what area is going to remain safe. I was living here when the early morning tornado destroyed 1300 homes. No one saw that coming! The Villages IS NOT the safe haven that some people believe. 18 yrs living here, I have learned to expect disasters.
