I disagree with part of this reply. That is, Golf Cart governors being changed for more speed. The GAS (as opposed to electric carts) have a HIGH center of gravity, which in combination with HIGHER speeds and often intoxication, cause the MANY golf Cart accidents that we read about. Ones like, "golf cart crashes into a palm tree and the driver is too drunk to get out of the vehicle".
.......A couple of days ago there was a story written by a bicycle rider that said a speeding and out of control golf cart cut him off and he flew over the handlebars and cut his knees. Also, it was a hit and run. I can just imagine that the Golf Cart had its speed settings tampered with.
........The only answer is for Police to make spot checks of suspiciously fast Golf Carts and issue HUGE tickets.
..........Some people may want to "poo-poo" THIS entire situation and NOT be able to RELATE to the injured bicyclist because they are always riding in an automobile or a Golf Cart. But, younger retirees want to enjoy the exercise and freedom of their bike rides. And more and MORE people are buying E-bikes in our age group.
.........It IS the RESPONSIBILITY of The Village owner / managers to PROMOTE safety through their POLICE FORCE. The idea of faster and faster Golf Carts is NOT "cute". It is DANGEROUS !!!!!!!
