I grew up skiing Vermont ski areas, with Killington being the most frequent go to ski area. It has everything one could want in a world class ski resort except for the single most important thing, consistent light fluffy deep powder. That’s why our group of ski buddies took a trip every winter out west. The best ski area for a great variety of terrain is Jackson Hole, but nothing beats the ungroomed deep powder trails at Alta, UT. Thanks to the usual hard packed ice bumps at Killington, my knees are now trash.
