The carrier *might* provide the microcell (I assume that's what you mean by booster) at no cost. That's what my provider did in Md.
However, the microcell connects to your internet and provides a cell signal. It would be easier these days to just configure the phone to use wifi calling: fewer devices to fail, less configuration, and loss of internet will affect both.
