The fire department was not able to make a determination. My insurance company did not investigate since it was a small claim and no loss of life and no major property damage. I contacted Yamaha several times and did not receive a call back.
I feel fortunate this did not happen after we came home and parked in the garage. I might not be here today.
My advice would be to install a heat sensor on your garage ceiling. They are under $20 on Amazon. Many of my friends and neighbors have done this.
