Anyhow, I see calendar of events on the Villages page. I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, maybe not, that these are all events booked by clubs of some sort and aren't just open events? Is that correct? Unfortunately on the website, clicking a link to an event doesn't provide any info. Example, is Walking Away the Pounds a club I'd need to join or is this just a group walk and anyone can show up.

Otherwise, is there equipment at the rec centers for things like bocci? If the court was free would it be possible to just get equipment and go play anytime it isn't booked for an event?

If I was down there I'm sure I could get all this info at a rec center, but hoping to be prepared before I'm there.

Any tips and info appreciated.

Walk away the pounds, Walking Aerobics, and similar are just show up and participate ( provided there is room- after Jan 1 they fill up fast so you may have have to show up 30-45 min before scheduled start times). Craft type classes may be different.
