Interesting though how times change. Back in the day people hitch hiked without giving it a second thought. We lived 20 miles from the high school we attended, and as I played football as well as being a sprinter on the track team that meant that practices for both sports were after school, and as we were a family of seven with only one car, that meant hitch-hiking home after practice was over. Never a problem. After I got a car of my own I returned the favor many times.
