I think some folks are certain that they will ring up at least $1,000 in covered benefits during a year. Paying $507 to get a certain $1,000 benefit is still a good deal. It doesn't take many services to get to $1,000 in benefits paid to a dentist. If the services are done early in the year, some people may cancel their dental plan after the yearly max is met.
