Small addendum for your consideration.
If the world's population was spread evenly over the total landmass, irregardless of whether the area was considered habitable or uninhabitable, (mountainous, desert, etc,) each person would have to survive on a hair more than 4.5 acres. And, due to rising populations, your tiny bit is getting smaller every second.
