It seems you think putting yourself in jeopardy is a better idea than just moving to the grass in dangerous spots where carts would not be able to see you beforehand. I was inches away from hitting that man, and will not put myself in jeopardy by moving into an opposing lane when there is no line of sight of what is coming toward me because an idiot insists on his “right” to stay in the roadway. You walkers who insist on staying in the roadway with carts who have to navigate blind curves and hills only need to be hit one time to change your life forever.

While I walk facing traffic on the MMPs most of the time, the exception is when I am approaching what will be a blind curve for oncoming cart traffic. Often in these situations there is no bail out room for the pedestrian on the left, due to plantings.
When I see this situation, I move across the MMP (look behind me first so I don't walk into a cart approaching from behind), and walk on the right side of the MMP until I am past the blind curve. If I can't see the carts coming at me, I know they can't see me either.
ALSO... When I am operating a cart and approaching a sharp right hand curve, and I can't see what is ahead of me on the MMP, I SLOW DOWN!!! There might be a pedestrian, or a runner, or a slow moving bicycle. SLOW DOWN if you can't see what's in the lane ahead of you.
Please.
