Yes, yes, yes, let's spend trillions of dollars extorted from our citizens on a study of Climate Change, knowing that we can't do anything to influence said change. Lets WASTE money because we are too bored with investing our money in things that can actually help our fellow citizens. Global Warming and Climate Change is one of the best scams anyone ever thought up. The Climate really does change, and no one can prove that man had anything to do with it's change. Man populated Earth, and the climate changes with the seasons, therefore man must be responsible for climate change. Of course, the Earth's systematic revolving around the Sun has nothing to do with the climate, and volcanoes erupting on land and under the oceans don't warm the water or air or pollute the atmosphere, nope. Since man is the perpetrator, we should lower the population to save the world. Save it for what? If we have no mankind to populate the world, why do we care? Will the world stop seasonal climate change if man is gone? Another question that needs answering is: If man is responsible for Global Warming, how long will it take man to warm up our world before it will be too hot for habitation? If man STOPs it's influence on Global Warming, will we have another ICE AGE? When the most influential reason for my migration to Florida was to live in a warmer climate, why would I care if in my lifetime, my home state's temperature increased a degree or two? The question goes back to: why should I wish for our country to waste trillions of dollars on NON-productive study of how the climate changes over a few thousand years and an attempt to prove that man is responsible, when a the average lifespan of a human is less than a hundred years? And even though I plan to live a hundred years, why should I get worked up over something that will not adversely affect me, my children or grandchildren? On the other hand, I appreciate all reasonable attempts to lessen man's contribution to air pollution. If cleaning up the air we breath is reasonable and has a by product of lessening the damage we do to the ecosystem, then I can support the effort. But, if 50% believe that man is responsible to climate change, then why spend trillions of bucks trying to convince everyone else? Don't come to me with a complaint unless you have a reasonable solution. But, make sure that the complaint is something that affects me and the cost of the solution is worth the investment. Don't force our citizens to spend money best spent elsewhere, on a whimsical short term bandaid solution, which overtly makes scammers very rich.
But, this is as good a subject for discussion as anything else.
