I was going to post the same - and saw that you already had. Pit Bulls can be extremely gentle - but also can be unsafe. It depends much on how the animal was raised. They are also very strong dogs - and for many of us getting older, this can be a challenge.
I hope all dogs can find a good home - many of Michael Vick's dogs were placed in homes - but the prospective owner deserves and NEEDS to understand the breed.
