After you have had hip surgery or knee replacement, or become fragile and extremely ill, you will understand. It is an embarrassment to have someone (especially a stranger like a home nurse) wipe your butt clean. Some people want to keep their dignity. I am thinking about installing one myself, JIC. I am not certain which will be worse, having my butt wiped or having to do it daily for my husband. Besides, think of all the money you can save on toilet paper while avoiding the long lines at Costco. Getting old is so much fun...
