However driving that we experience in other countries is a bit different than here. For the most part the folks in Bangkok or Mauritius drive that way all the time and what we might see as reckless Evel-Knievelism on their part is really, given the circumstances, pretty well-calculated. Here, a lot of the problems are caused by people that have been significantly impacted by the debilities of age, physical and mental, which DOESN'T get better, only worse.

Yep, age is a factor. The hurling cabs of Korea, the motorbikes of Italy, the jeepneys of the PI or the Trikes in many TCNs would make most cringe. In comparison to the staleness of traffic here, there really isn’t any because of age. But then drive the 5 in LA at about 7 AM.
