I am shocked & surprised at this WPD statement.
The sign ("no golf carts beyond this point.") was erected by The Villages......a private entity.
Private signs do not determine law.............they are opinions/suggestions.

You are correct. I asked the Sumter County Sheriff's office about that sign. The deputy told me yes that sign was erected by the villages and they were working with the Wildwood police to get the villages to remove that sign. I have no doubt when the sign was put up the law prohibited golf carts from crossing roads at intersections. However that law was changed in 2019.
