Use your own Modem
We've had XFINITY internet and phone service, no cable TV since moving to The Villages in 2015. Using their equipment is simply a ripoff. The only thing you need to do is purchase a modem that is on the XFINITY website as compatible. XFINITY is required, by law, to permit users to use their own equipment. You do not get extra data from using their equipment, the only thing you get is "free service" if something goes wrong with the modem. I'm been using my own cable internet modems for 20+ years and have yet to have an issue. We only do streaming and our total usage is ~200 GB/mo. The XFINITY plan is >1TB/mo. Unless you're doing something very unusual, I doubt that you'd need more than 1TB. You really get no value in paying for the extra stuff, it's just profit for XFINITY.
