Not really. I’ve had them in both of the garage doors at the last 2 homes over 10 years and have been through some pretty good winds in that time, so, no it doesn’t weaken them. And, they are pretty effective; I have an attic fan in the garage, it not only keeps the garage cooler, it’s strong enough to push hot air out of the attic.
