Having been in the exercise mode for almost 40 years with 33 of them as a member of Jack Lalanne's/Ballys, the secret to a happy successful workout is to find what works for you. If you go at peak times, chances are that you are going to run into an occasional rough spot which is common when a lot of people try to do the same thing at the same time. Here in TV the majority of gym folks go in the AM so as not to impact the rest of their day and that is understandable. My deal is that I pick those times during the day, all in the PM, when the crowd is substantially less and I have a lot less chance of being stressed out by someone else. Granted it governs what I do with the rest of the day, but at least I have a workout and feel totally relaxed afterward without having to wind down from some upheaval due to someone else.
